The #1 New York Times bestseller—a thrilling new romance from E L James, author of the phenomenal bestselling Fifty Shades Trilogy.

London, 2019. Life has been easy for Maxim Trevelyan. With his good looks, aristocratic connections, and money, he’s never had to work and he’s rarely slept alone. But all that changes when tragedy strikes and Maxim inherits his family’s noble title, wealth, and estates, and all the responsibility that entails. It’s a role he’s not prepared for and one that he struggles to face.
But his biggest challenge is fighting his desire for an unexpected, enigmatic young woman who’s recently arrived in England, possessing little more than a dangerous and troublesome past.  Reticent, beautiful, and musically gifted, she’s an alluring mystery, and Maxim’s longing for her deepens into a passion that he’s never experienced and dares not name. Just who is Alessia Demachi? Can Maxim protect her from the malevolence that threatens her? And what will she do when she learns that he’s been hiding secrets of his own?
From the heart of London through wild, rural Cornwall to the bleak, forbidding beauty of the Balkans, The Mister is a roller-coaster ride of danger and desire that leaves the reader breathless to the very last page.

  • The ending👀

I truly loved the book. Everything was so intriguing. But the thing that really has me feeling some type of way is the ending. Like what the heck how can you just end it like that 😫!!
  • Meh

I was hesitant to read this book due to the fact that I loved Fifty Shades Of Gray, and read it more than once. I was right to be hesitant. Don’t get me wrong it was a decent read, but a little slow and I lost the plot somewhere in the middle. I skipped around a lot, and by doing this I still didn’t miss anything. I will say that it was an okay read.
  • Typical Romance Novel

    By Dandy Coss
If you are looking for a complex novel with plot twists, emotional depth, and character evolution, keep searching elsewhere. This is a decent romance book and reads exactly how you’d expect it to- boy meets girl, boy and girl lust after one another, boy and girl face some problem, fall in love, and then the happily ever after. Good read if you keep your expectations in check.

  • Letdown....

I was so excited to read another book from her, just to be let down! Story was cheesy and boring. I’m a person who has to finish a book especially when I’ve paid for it, but this one was hard to finish! Honestly it sucked! Beyond disappointed...

Such a beautiful book with a thrilling storyline BUT THE ENDING!!! It just stopped and I have so many questions! 😢 but it was wonderful overall ❤️
  • Worst book I’ve ever read

    By Prettyinpink2727
I got through 250 pages of this book and it was painful. It is so horribly written I think it may have been published before someone had a chance to edit or proof it. The characters and plot lacked depth and the story itself wasn’t engaging. I was excited to see another book by E.L. James but this one was a complete disappointment. Read at your own risk.
  • So good!

I was not sure how I would like this after reading reviews but it was so good! Very different from 50 shades. Classic romance novel but I really enjoyed the characters.
  • Mehhhh

It started off really slow it got a little better towards the end but it doesn’t compare to her other novels. I wasn’t impressed.
  • Not her best work!

I was highly disappointed with this one. I was so excited she wrote another book and I really did eventually fall in love with the characters, but it took a while and it was hard to follow....... and the biggest disappointment was the ending .... I mean did she just give up wanting write it? Or is there a 2nd book? I don’t get it?
